What is Sodatide, and is it a GLP-1?
What kind of product is Sodatide?
A dietary supplement in vegetarian capsules, 30 per bottle. It pairs two fibers with three probiotic bacteria. The label says "Metabolic & Digestive Support". It is not a drug.
Is Sodatide a GLP-1 medicine?
No. The name sounds like semaglutide or tirzepatide, but Sodatide contains no drug. GLP-1 medicines are prescription products (NIDDK prescription obesity medicines); Sodatide is fiber and bacteria.
Can Sodatide replace Ozempic or another weight shot?
No. It is not an alternative to any prescription medicine. If you want a GLP-1 drug, ask a doctor, and avoid unapproved versions sold online, which the FDA warns about (FDA unapproved GLP-1 concerns).
Does the FDA approve Sodatide?
No. The FDA does not approve supplements before sale (FDA 101 Dietary Supplements). The label carries the standard notice that its statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Is Sodatide a weight-loss treatment?
No. It is not a treatment for obesity, diabetes, IBS or any disease. The sales page goes further than the label; we do not repeat its weight and fat claims.
What do the claims on the Sodatide bottle mean?
"Supports appetite control and satiety" and "Promotes energy production from fats" are the brand's claims, each marked with an asterisk. No study of Sodatide backs them.

What is in a Sodatide capsule?
What are the five Sodatide ingredients?
Per capsule: chicory root inulin 211 mg, potato resistant starch 100 mg, and a 36 mg blend of Bifidobacterium infantis, Clostridium butyricum and Akkermansia muciniphila.
How many CFU are in Sodatide?
None are printed. Probiotics are dosed in CFU, often 1 to 10 billion (NIH ODS Probiotics (HP)). The label gives only the blend's 36 mg weight, which includes dead cells.
How much Akkermansia does one capsule hold?
At most 12 mg, by blend order, and milligrams do not tell you live cells. The 2019 pilot used 10 billion cells a day, mostly pasteurized (Depommier 2019 Nat Med Akkermansia pilot).
Is 211 mg of inulin a useful amount?
It is small. EFSA accepted a regularity effect at 12 grams a day (EFSA 2015 chicory inulin claim). That would take about 57 capsules. See chicory inulin.
Which strains does Sodatide use?
The label names species only, with no strain codes. That matters: probiotic effects and safety are strain-specific (NIH ODS Probiotics (HP)) (ACNFP C. butyricum TO-A paper). Ask the brand which strains it uses.
Is Sodatide vegetarian or vegan?
The capsule is hypromellose, a plant-based shell, so it fits a vegetarian diet. The label does not say vegan; ask the brand if that matters to you.

How do you take and store Sodatide?
How many Sodatide capsules a day?
One, with an 8 oz. glass of water, per the label. The sales page suggests mornings, before a meal. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Does Sodatide need refrigeration?
Yes, for best quality. The label says "Refrigerate for optimal quality" and to store it in a cool, dry place. Keep the closed bottle in the fridge.
Is Sodatide ruined if it sat out overnight?
The label does not say. It asks for a cool, dry place away from heat, light and humidity. Put it back in the fridge, and ask the brand if it got hot.
What if I miss a dose of Sodatide?
Take the next capsule as usual. Do not double up; the label says not to exceed the recommended dose.
Can I open the capsule and mix it into food?
The label does not cover that. It says to swallow one capsule with water. Ask the brand before changing how you take it.
How long does one bottle last?
30 days at one capsule a day. Two bottles cover the full 60-day refund window.

Is Sodatide safe, and who should ask first?
What side effects can Sodatide cause?
Fibers like inulin cause gas and bloating at gram doses (Bonnema 2010 inulin GI tolerance). 211 mg is tiny, so effects may be mild, but watch your gut the first weeks. See side effects.
Can I take Sodatide with metformin or a GLP-1 shot?
Ask your doctor first. No interaction study exists. The NIDDK advises telling your clinician about every supplement you take with weight medicine (NIDDK prescription obesity medicines).
Is Sodatide safe in pregnancy?
Per the label, pregnant or nursing mothers should consult a physician first. EFSA's Akkermansia safety opinion also excluded pregnant and breastfeeding women (EFSA 2021 pasteurised Akkermansia).
Who should avoid the probiotics in Sodatide?
People who are seriously ill or immunocompromised should ask a doctor first. Probiotics have caused rare, serious infections in those groups (NIH ODS Probiotics (HP)).
Is Clostridium butyricum safe?
It depends on the strain. EFSA does not presume the species safe, because a few strains carry a toxin gene (ACNFP C. butyricum TO-A paper). The label names no strain.
I have IBS. Is Sodatide a good idea?
Inulin is a type of fructan, and fructans are high-FODMAP foods (Monash FODMAP high/low foods). 211 mg is small, but start slowly and stop if symptoms flare.
Never stop or change a prescribed medicine to try a supplement. Take the label to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Does Sodatide work, and how fast?
Is there a clinical trial of Sodatide?
No published trial has tested Sodatide itself. Research exists only for its ingredients, mostly at doses many times higher.
How long before Sodatide shows any effect?
No timeline is known. Track hunger and digestion for a few weeks, and decide before day 60 so a refund stays possible.
Will Sodatide make me lose weight?
No evidence shows that at these doses. The NIH says little is known about whether weight-loss supplements work (NIH ODS Weight-loss supplements (HP)).
What did weight studies on chicory inulin find?
A 2025 analysis of 32 trials found under 1 kg average loss at a median 10 g a day. The study was industry-funded (Reimer 2025 chicory ITF weight meta-analysis (trade report)).
Can food give me the same fiber?
Yes, and far more. Adults need 21 to 38 grams a day (MedlinePlus dietary fiber), and whole foods beat fiber supplements, Mayo Clinic says (Mayo Clinic fiber).
Does Sodatide reduce hunger?
The label claims support for appetite control, but no study of Sodatide tested it. Fiber's effect on fullness was studied at gram doses.
